“劍橋少兒英語”是英國劍橋大學考試委員會專門為英語為非母語國家的少年兒童設計的學習系統。目前，幾百萬適齡兒童在全世界50多個國家和地區進行學習。1 997年，教育部考試中心中英教育測量學術交流中心開始在中國大陸推廣該項目，短短幾年，全國各地；500多萬學生相繼學習和使用了“劍橋少兒英語”。 《劍橋少兒英語》專為我國6—12歲年齡段的少年兒童學習英語而設計。本教材不僅完全符合劍橋少兒英語大綱的教學要求，而且參照了《英語教學大綱》(教育部制定的九年義務教育全日制初級中學教學大綱，人民教育出版社出版)及國內外比較有代表性的兒童英語教學的標準，在內容和形式上反映了少兒的認知能力和心理特征，突出了“活潑、有趣、輕松、連續”的特色。 本教材分預備級、第一級、第二級、第三級共4個級別
